Oh Brother, My Brother is my debut children’s book, but it is not just a story for kids. It’s a tool for families. A bridge for conversations. And a resource designed to help heal what often goes unspoken.
As I prepare for the February 1st release, I’ve also learned something critical about books that aim to create impact: they need voices beyond the author’s own. Reviews and endorsements matter, not for ego, but for reach. They help parents, educators, mental health professionals, and caregivers understand why this story belongs in their homes, classrooms, and communities.
Sending this book out for review was one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever done. This project is personal. My name is on every page. My heart is in every chapter. And I invited respected leaders, mental health professionals, educators, pastors, civic leaders, and parents to read it honestly, with full permission to say no if it didn’t resonate.
What came back exceeded anything I imagined.
Reviewers described Oh Brother, My Brother as:
A powerful exploration of identity, belonging, and blended families
A conversation starter that helps children process love, rejection, and confusion
A tool that strengthens the connection between parents and children
A resource for healing family dynamics before pain becomes generational
That affirmation matters, not because it validates me, but because it confirms the mission.
This book exists because too many children grow up without the language to name their feelings, and too many adults carry those unmet needs into adulthood. Oh Brother, My Brother creates space for families to talk, listen, and heal together.
